Dear location, this are the requirements we have for our in-person “Social Media Creators & Influencer Meetup”

We organize meetups at Social Rising. Here are the requirements for small and medium ones, with large ones yet to come šŸ˜‰

Requirements:

  • The place should allow us to host the event between 6pm-10pm
  • There should either be a bar serving drinks or a fridge so we can order drinks and provide them ourselves.
  • It should be reachable by public transport, up to 10 mins by train/subway/tram. Take this requirement with a pinch of European salt, exceptions obviously for cities where there's no functioning public transport, like some US cities.
  • There should never be a "no-laptop" policy in the area where we host the event. Generally we rarely have laptops out, but it should also not be forbidden in case some people want to get things done right there. Also we don't want to be in the "laptop-area", where everyone is quiet and we have conversations.
  • If you serve food, you shall be ok with us meeting mostly for drinks. A few people usually grab a bite to eat, and if there's an orga-team we try to meet for dinner beforehand. In places like coworking spaces where there is no food we might even order some pizza pre-event for the orga-team.
  • We are charging for the entrance, you should be ok with that and it should be allowed. All money goes into drinks anyways, and this requirement is to assure the quality of the participants.

Nice-to-have:

  • WiFi

Consumption:

  • If you're a bar: We're taking over the bill, with certain limits, obvioulsy. There has not been a (paid) event where we had to stop paying drinks yet, but I also don't want to promise everything šŸ˜‰
  • Minimums are fine, as long as you pay respect to the fact that we're drinks mostly, and hosting the events on days where the people have to get up for work the next day. The consumption won't be crazily high, there will also be people not drinking alcoholic beverages there usually.

Small meetup: 5-20 participants

At a small meetup we are around 10-20 people, and the ideal setting would be a table where we can all sit around. Here are the requirements:

  • The environment needs to allow us to talk to teach other around the table, which means that the background music should allow people to talk to each other at the table (one person talking to the group should be understandable)

Medium meetup: 20-50 participants

At this meetup we expect around 30-50 people, and therefore prefer to do it in a seperate room or area for us. Here are our requirements:

  • The background music must allow one person to talk to the group, which means the acoustics should be good anyways or the music could be turned off.

Large meetup: 50-150 participants

This is a meetup where we expect 50 - 150 people, and preferably have a location for us, which also includes a stage + tech.

What do participants think of our meetups?

It is an event that I attend since more than 3 years, and I only missed it once. It is great to connect with other content creators. Once in a while there are highly qualified speakers as well, who share great insights in their fields like: "how to master the YouTube algorithm" or "how to become a pro in editing" etc. If you are a content creator, you shouldn't miss it!

Really a great Meetup for content creators like me. It is the only place I find so many like-minded people to share tips and ideas. The atmosphere is just great and very international. I will definitely come back!

In summer I had the opportunity to visit a social rising event and it was more then I expected. Iā€™m really happy that I had the chance to have nice conversation and the opportunity to expend my network šŸ™Œ
